    Course description

This is a professional doctorate combining coursework and research. It is ideal for students who wish to research their area of expertise in depth, but who do not wish to do this using the methodology of a single research topic.

Course objectives

The learning goals associated with this course are to: engage in the in-depth study of particular aspects of business administration through access to advanced theories, concepts and techniques; extend knowledge, expertise and skill through the application of research to business problems and issues; gain experience in the design and implementation of research in the broad field of business administration; develop the ability to carry out independent research at an advanced level, together with analytical and written communication skills; make a significant contribution to knowledge and /or to the understanding of one or more aspects of business administration through the research component of the degree.

    Course structure

Course requirements

(a) Students must complete four core units:

  • DBA6000 Quantitative business research methods
  • DBA6007 DBA seminar
  • DBA6008 Current issues in business
  • DBA6010 Qualitative business research methods

(b) students must also complete:

(i) research component - stage 1 (first year)

(ii) research component - stage 2 (second year)

(iii) research component - stage 3 (third year)
