Parkville First semester 2007 (Day)
Drugs used in endocrinology and diabetes. Drugs used in gastrointestinal disorders. Cancer chemotherapy. Pharmacogenetics and adverse effects of drugs. Practical classes using in vivo experiments, computer simulations, seminars and discussion groups.
Students will develop an:
End of semester exam: 80% (2 hours) of the assessment . The exam will be in the form of 60 minutes of multiple choice questions and 6 questions requiring approximately 10 minutes of work each. All questions will be aligned to the specific objectives given before each lecture.
15% of the assessment will be in the form of a practical review. The remaining 5% of the assessment will be for practical class participation (assessed via practical class quizzes).
26 hours of lectures, 1 x 6-hour practical, 3 x 3-hour class debates.
All 3rd year Bachelor of Pharmacy units
