Synopsis

The unit will deal with philosophical problems concerning modality and some issues in the metaphysics of individuals, properties, relations, change, events and fate. Assessment

Essay (3000 word): 50%
Assignment (1500 words): 50%
Either of these components may optionally be replaced by a 3 hour examination.

Contact hours

2 hour (1 x 2 hour seminar) per week

Prerequisites

A first-year sequence in Philosophy and two 6-point second-year Philosophy units including at least one of PHL2110, PHL2130 or PHL2170.
