MMS3801 - Commercial programming environments

Synopsis

This unit will examine a range of contemporary programming environments and languages used in commercial application development. Comparative strengths and weaknesses will be examined with a view to selection of the most efficient tool for a given task. The syntax of MFC, along with Visual Studio, will be introduced to demonstrate the commercial development process.

Two assignments (40%)

Written Examination (2 hours - 30%)

Contact hours

Workload requirement is 12 hours/ week for 13 weeks. Students will attend 2 hours of lectures and one 2 hour tutorial/laboratory session/ week.Students are also expected to spend 8 hours/ week on individual study and assignment work, including library and computing laboratory work.
