Caulfield Second semester 2007 (Day)
An examination of the role of international institutions and organisations with emphasis on major global inter-governmental institutions in the Asia-Pacific. Topics include development, theories and legal status of international institutions; the United Nations and relevant related agencies IMF, World Bank and Asian Development Bank; international economic institutions in the Asia Pacific region including ASEAN, APEC; international non-government organisations; prospects for future developments; and proposals for reform of selected international institutions and organisations.
The learning goals associated with this unit are to:
Individual presentation: 20%
Individual assignment (2500 words): 30%
Examination (3 hours): 50%

Students must have completed 24 points at 9000-level.
