Synopsis

On completion of this unit students should have an understanding of: the nature of managerial work in organisations; theories of management and their historical development; the management of people as individuals and groups; the importance of leadership and motivation; the principles by which change is introduced into organisations; the key factors in the organisation's environment that impact on how managers and organisations work.
