Synopsis

This unit provides an introduction to the structure of the
European Union, legislative procedures, the legal
framework of the single market and single currency, legal protection including human rights, trade with Australia and the rest of the world, current problems of
enlargement and constitutional reform.

Objectives

This unit is designed for Australian and other non-EU
lawyers who, for professional or academic reasons, seek an introduction to the legal system and economic law of the European Union.
