Caulfield First semester 2007 (Day)
The unit provides a study of the theory and nature of electronic commerce, and in particular Internet commerce. Topics include: electronic commerce definitions and taxonomies; key business issues (such as disintermediation, the marketspace, security, and mass customisation); new organizational forms; electronic commerce and supply chain management; key technologies and applications; product numbering/bar-coding; Electronic Data Interchange; Internet EDI; electronic payment systems. electronic commerce in action: banking, retailing, manufacturing, online publishing.
