This unit explores the range of exhibition and related design applications and types. Students are initially introduced to the concepts of interior space and spatial ambience which are then merged with the visual communications aspects of exhibitions. Topics covered include current and recent thinking about exhibitions and related activities, the types of construction and presentation used in exhibition design, lighting, colour, sound, projection, and other media. Topics discussed include the implementation process, regulation and project and budget management. Students undertake design project work to create simple exhibition concepts and structures.
On successful completion of this unit, students will:
