Supervised Research in IDEA enables students to consolidate the theoretical knowledge analytical skills acquired in the M. IDEA in a research context. It requires independent learning and research by the student in an area that falls within the student's chosen Area of Concentration, and related to the core units offered in the first two semesters. It offers an alternative option to students wishing to pursue more academically oriented research rather than the internship-based client project IDA5310.

Upon successfully completing this unit, students will:

  1. Have acquired specialised skills in a particular area of international development and environmental analysis;
  2. Have completed a relevant research paper that demonstrates their contribution to the field of international development and environmental sustainability in their chosen area of concentration.
