This unit introduces UNIX tools for managing processes; searching, editing and modifying files and data streams; command interpreters and shell scripts; and a typical system call interface and its use for systems programming in a language like C.
Assignments and practical assessment: 40%; Practical examination: (3 hours): 60%.
