Peninsula Second semester 2007 (Day)
The unit will examine a range of issues related to areas of effective management and administration in early childhood services. Consideration will be given to topics related to human and material resource management and service development and marketing.
Upon successful completion of this unit students should have knowledge and understanding of a range of issues related to the effective management and administration of early Childhood services; the importance of mandated requirements as a manager of an Early Childhood Service; the Children's Services Regulation 1998 and the Children's Services Act 1996; the ability to develop appropriate strategies in marketing an early childhood service development; the skills required to undertake the administrative tasks of an Early Childhood administrator/manager.
Written assignment (4 sub-tasks x 1000 equivalent = 4000 words equivalent): 70%; and Completion of a Professional Portfolio: 30% (500 words equivalent)
