Students liaise with an outside client drawn from either the education sphere or a commercial enterprise. The task is to develop for the client an information technology solution to a problem or project that the client feels desirable to achieve and that the student feels capable of achieving.
Upon successful completion of this unit, students should possess an understanding of the client-provider relationship; have developed user skills in relation to the construction of a computing application as specified by the client; gained an understanding of and practical experience in the need for project deadlines and deliverables; gained a broader understanding of the integrated role information technology plays within our society.
Essay (1000 words): 25%; Presentation of Project (equivalent to 1000 words): 25%; and Project (equivalent to 2000 words): 50%
