Malaysia Second semester 2007 (Day)
The nature of energy supply systems, energy resources and demand. Generation of electricity using non-renewables. Environmental impacts of non-renewable sources of energy. Sustainable energy supply and distributed generation technologies such as solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, hydro power, fuel cell, wind power, co-generation, biomass, storage devices, ocean thermal, geothermal, enabling technologies, details of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) energy, Solar PV-Hybrid power systems. Optimization of size of components in solar PV hybrid systems. Cost calculation, performance prediction improvement of solar PV systems. Demand side management.
