Definition of economic development; characteristics of developing countries; theories of economic development and underdevelopment; the possible effects and application of agricultural, population, domestic saving, domestic and foreign investment, foreign aid, human resources, and international trade policies on economic development.

Oral presentation: 5%
Examination (2.5 hours): 70%
