Clayton First semester 2007 (Off-campus)
History of the development of concepts of the mind, the nature of evidence for the efficacy or otherwise of various forms of psychological interventions, assessment in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy and the use of cognitive behavioural methods in depression, anxiety and psychosis. The unit also includes psychological approaches to understanding and managing aggression, and in encouraging compliance and prevention of relapse in psychosis, as well as dynamic and learning theory-based understanding and therapy of personality disorders.
Upon completion of this unit, students will have:
Two written assignments each of 3,000 words and weighted at 50% each.
