Clayton Second semester 2007 (Day)
This unit seeks to develop an understanding of the troubleshooting techniques used in the chemical and process industries and an appreciation of the technical problems that arise from day to day in these industries. Case studies will be chosen to suit the students' level of experience and knowledge of material and energy balances, fluid dynamics, reaction engineering, heat and mass transfer, process control and process safety. The classes will be lead by experienced engineers from a major chemical engineering company.
