Clayton First semester 2007 (Evening)
An introduction to the fundamentals of business application development. A specific model and set of technologies will be used to implement a typical business web application. Discussion of browser compatability and backend connectivity in the context of the specific implementation issues of advanced presentation, and the roles and distribution of server side and client side code in the context of validation. Other topics covered include site design, navigation,user profiling, statistics and stickiness, a preview of emerging technology solutions likely to have a commercial impact and broader issues such as business data security and e-commerce.

Examination (2 hours): 60%
Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit
Two hours lectures/week, one 2hour laboratory/week
Entry to the Master of Business Systems or equivalent Masters program
