Clayton Second semester 2007 (Day)
Operations Management in manufacturing and service organisations. Topics include financial calculations, an introduction to computer software systems in a management context, production planning and control, materials requirements planning and inventory control, project management with cash flow and costing, just-in-time systems, barcoding, quality assurance and the ISO 9000 standards, different types of organisation and their business strategies.
Assignments: 20% - Examination (2 hours): 80% - Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit.
One x 2hour lecture/week, one x 1hour laboratory/week
Completion of 12 points of postgraduate level Faculty of Information Technology units
