Clayton First semester 2007 (Day)
This unit is an introduction to computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) and groupware. CSCW is a multidisciplinary field which looks at how groups work and seeks to discover how technology can help them work. Groupware is the wide range of software that enables teams of people to work together efficiently. Examples of groupware include email, group calendars, shared workspaces, electronic meeting systems and workflow. We will explore a variety of CSCW research topics through discussion of papers. Students will use and develop groupware applications in Lotus Notes in order to get hands on experience in using and designing groupware.
