Prospective honours students should consult Dr Liz Reed or Professor Lynette Russell in their third year of study, between October and early December, to have their thesis topic approved and for details of supervision to be arranged. Combined honours may be taken with another Arts discipline, provided that honours requirements have been met in both disciplines. Students are expected to commence their research during the long vacation. The dissertation is due by late October.

The dissertation should aim to analyse an issue of problem, develop a coherent argument and arrive at clearly articulated conclusions based on evidence. It should include appropriate footnotes/endnotes and a comprehensive bibliography and bibliographic essay.
