Units indexed by faculty Soil scienceCoordinators: Dr Tony Patti (School of Chemistry and School of Applied Sciences and Engineering) and Dr Meredith Orr (School of Geography and Environmental Science) The four units that make up the minor in soil science provide a background and focus in basic chemical and physical properties of soils. This background is utilised to examine a number of important environmental issues related to Australian soils, particularly salinity, erosion, acidity and the depletion of soil organic matter.
