Students gain an understanding of politics as it is concerned with government, policy and political institutions, resource allocation, decision-making, social behaviour and political action, conflict and power struggles, and the struggle for political freedom. They may specialise in one of four broad areas of politics: Australian politics, international relations and global politics, politics of culture and identity, or social and political theory. Course structureCourse requirementsStudents are required to complete a three-year major sequence (48 points) in politics.
