Graduate Certificate in Infrastructure Engineering and Management

Course description

This graduate certificate provides a course of study for infrastructure engineering and management professionals wishing to expand their skills in areas of relevance to the planning, design, management and operation of facilities. Participants will normally have a degree in civil engineering or equivalent. In exceptional circumstances, applicants without degree or diploma qualifications may also be admitted on the basis of work experience, subject to faculty approval.

Course structure

Students should choose two units from the list of core units available in first and second semesters, one unit from the list of Engineering electives and one unit from the list of Business and Economics electives (refer to the list in the entry for the Master of Infrastructure Engineering and Management.)The number of units required may vary depending on entry level and whether any credit has been granted for prior studies.

Group 2 Elective units

Select one unit from:

  • CIV5263 Hydraulics of sewerage systems
  • CIV5264 Management of water resources and related infrastructure
  • CIV5301 Traffic engineering fundamentals
  • CIV5302 Road traffic: engineering and management
  • CIV5304 Intelligent transport systems
  • CIV5306 Road safety engineering
  • CIV5307 Parking policy and design
Group 3 Business and Economics electives

Articulation

Students who have satisfactorily completed 24 pointsmay articulate to the Graduate Diploma in Infrastructure Engineering and Management.
