Notes on coursework programs

Executive certificates

Duration

Executive certificates require the completion of four units (24 points) and are normally completed in one semester of full-time study or part-time equivalent.

Progression to further studies

Students who complete an executive certificate with an average grade of credit or above are eligible to apply for admission to a range of graduate diplomas or masters offered by the Monash GSB. Students may apply for advanced standing up to a maximum of four units towards the relevant graduate diploma or masters depending upon the units that have been studied in the executive certificate. Students who successfully complete the graduate diploma with an average grade of credit or above may be eligible to continue their studies in the relevant masters by coursework degree.

Graduate certificates

Credit for prior studies

Candidates may be eligible for credit for a maximum of two units (12 points) if previous study is considered to be equivalent to particular units in the course of study. Credit is restricted to study undertaken in the last five years and must be approved by the course director.

Students who complete a graduate certificate are eligible to apply for admission to a range of graduate diplomas or masters offered by the faculty. Students may apply for credit up to a maximum of four units towards the relevant graduate diploma or masters depending upon the units that have been studied in the graduate certificate.

Graduate diplomas

Credit in masters degrees can vary considerably according to the degree concerned. Refer to the individual course entries for details on the amount of credit available.
