The discipline of criminology interprets, analyses and evaluates critical aspects of crime, crime prevention and the criminal justice process. People interested in pursuing research into the criminal justice system and related criminological issues are invited to apply. All relevant research topics will be considered, subject to the availability of supervision. Joint interdisciplinary supervision can be arranged. Current academic strengths relevant to the criminology discipline include accountability in the criminal justice system, situational crime prevention, state crime, terrorism and anti-terrorism, people trafficking, causes of crime, police-government relations, comparative policing, histories of policing and criminal justice ethics.
