Course description

The course is designed for regionally based workers from diverse sectors who have a responsibility to engage with community groups, welfare organisations and local government. It provides knowledge of rural and regional community development principles and practices, with an emphasis on collaborative and self-directed learning.

Course structure

The course comprises 24 points of part-time study over two semesters. There are four 6-point units as follows:

RCD5602 Facilitating community development (6 points)
RCD5603 Collaborative engagement in communities (6 points)
RCD5605 Theory and practice of community development 1 (6 points)
RCD5606 Theory and practice of community development 2 (6 points)
