Course description

This course will introduce students to international relations at postgraduate level by engaging with literatures and taking part in seminar work.

Course structure

Candidates must successfully complete two semester-length units (24 points) chosen from the list below:

  • PLM4060 Research project (politics) (9000 words)
  • PLM4310 Wars of recognition: terrorism and political violence
  • PLM4340 Fringe politics and extremist violence: an introduction to terrorism
  • PLM4430 Political Islam
  • PLM4440 Global soul: consumers, citizens and rebels
  • PLM4480 Culture, norms and ideas in international politics
  • PLM4600 Strategic studies: a critical introduction

Articulation

Candidates who complete a Graduate Certificate in International Relations with a credit average can progress to a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and receive 50 per cent credit towards that course.
