Units indexed by faculty Bachelor of Medical ScienceCourse code: 0041 + Course abbreviation: BMedSc + Total credit points required: 48 + 1 year full-time Study mode and course locationOn-campus (Clayton F/T only) Course descriptionThis course provides students who are enrolled in the MB BS with an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of an aspect of medical science and to pursue the study of this field through research. Students who have successfully completed at least the first three years of the MB BS course may take leave from the medical course to pursue special studies in a discipline area offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences in order to qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSc). During the 12-month period, students will undertake research activities supervised through a department of the faculty and complete a minor thesis. Students resume the MB BS course after completion of the BMedSc year. The BMedSc degree is normally awarded at honours standard only.
