Units indexed by faculty Part-time, off-campus learning and off-shore studiesPart-time studentsPart-time students are expected to proceed through their course at half the rate of full-time students. Evening classes are available for some second and third-year units on the Caulfield campus, but first-year units are not available in the evening. At the Berwick, Gippsland, Peninsula and Monash Malaysia campuses, classes are available only during the day. At Caulfield, the evening classes normally commence at 4 pm or 6 pm. Part-time undergraduate students should note that they are required to attend examinations at the same time as full-time students. In some instances, this also applies to students in graduate programs. If in doubt, students should check with the faculty office. Off-campus learning studentsAll courses offered by the Gippsland School of Information Technology are available to students for part-time study by off-campus learning. These courses are designed so that it is possible to complete all requirements without any on-campus attendance. Some on-campus attendance is required for research degrees. Some units offered by the Caulfield School of Information Technology are also available by off-campus study - see the school entry. All off-campus students in IT courses must have an IBM-compatible personal computer with a printer, a modem, and internet access in order to complete and electronically submit assignment work and to communicate with lecturers and other students. International off-campus learning studentsInternational students who wish to apply for off-campus learning should visit www.celts.monash.edu.au for an off-campus learning application form or call 1800 671 845 (within Australia) for a copy of the Off-Campus Learning Course Guide and an application form. Off-shore studentsThe faculty has many students based in Singapore and Hong Kong completing their degrees by off-campus learning courses offered in collaboration with partner organisations. Off-shore students are subject to the same university, faculty and course regulations as students based in Australia. Email gscit@infotech.monash.edu.au for details of arrangements.
