Students study a variety of literary modes and several ways of speaking and writing about literature. They also have the opportunity to specialise in, or study a variety of, literary cultures, including those from American, Asian, Australian and British cultures. Other areas of specialisation include children’s literature, medieval to contemporary literature, modern poetry, publishing, women’s writing, postcolonial literature, critical theory, and the study of writing itself including professional and fictional writing. Course structureCourse requirementsStudents are required to complete a three-year major sequence (48 points) in English.
