Units indexed by faculty Master of Human Rights LawCourse code: 3392 + Course abbreviation: MasterHumRtsLaw + Total credit points required: 48 + 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time Study mode and course locationOn campus (Melbourne city) Course descriptionThis course is particularly relevant for non-lawyers working in NGOs, government, community groups and industry who are interested in how human rights law impacts upon their work, as well as those employed by human rights-related organisations such as international human rights NGOs and international development agencies. Entry requirementsTo be eligible, candidates require a university degree in any discipline, or equivalent qualification with significant work experience in the area of specialisation. Course structureThe course comprises eight 6-point units. Candidates must complete five units offered as part of the Master of Laws specialising in human rights law. The remaining three units may be taken from any units offered in the masters coursework program. Alternatively students can elect one of the following options:
A candidate with a degree in a discipline other than law or a candidate with a law degree from a non-Australian jurisdiction will be required to complete the unit LAW7212 (Australian legal system), unless an exemption is granted.
