Course description

This innovative graduate diploma is being offered by the Faculty of Law in conjunction with the faculties of Arts, Business and Economics, and Medicine, Nursing and Health sciences. The study of regulation is a relatively new discipline which both links and transcends the boundaries between the disciplines of economics, law, politics, criminology, sociology, psychology, organisational theory and public administration. To date, it has been at the periphery of most of these fields. This course will provide practitioners and scholars in these fields with a core set of ideas, theories and skills to apply to their activities.

Course structure

Students are required to complete four units, each worth 6 points, of which at least two must be chosen from the list of five core 'Regulatory studies units'. The remaining two units may be chosen from a wide range of elective units across participating faculties’ offerings. Those who do not have an undergraduate law degree may complete LAW7212 (Australian legal system) as one of the four units.
