Units indexed by faculty School of Information Technology (Monash South Africa campus)The School of Information Technology (SIT) is located at Monash South Africa. The campus was opened in February 2001 in Roodepoort, 20 kilometres north-west of central Johannesburg. Currently, the campus has facilities for 1500 students and offers small classes and a multicultural community with more than 70% of students from other African countries. The school currently offers two undergraduate courses: the Bachelor of Business Systems and the Bachelor of Computing. Honours will be introduced from 2006, as well as the Master of Business Systems. The school focuses on web technologies and is committed to the open source philosophy. Research areas cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from metals used in chip construction and wireless networks to IT education, web technologies and complex systems.
