Course description

This course has been designed in response to the growing market demand for counselling knowledge and skills from professional people working in a range of education, community and service-related industries. It provides a pathway into the Master in Counselling degree.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, applicants must hold either:

  • an approved three year bachelors degree, or
  • have qualifications or experience considered by the faculty board to be equivalent to, or a satisfactory substitute for, the above award.

Selection into the program will be based on qualifications, academic merit, relevant work experience, referee reports and/or interviews.

Course outline

The program is based on two 12-point coursework units, giving a total of 24 points. Units offered are:

  • EDF6530 Introduction to counselling across the lifespan
  • EDF6532 Assessment in counselling
