Course description

This course recognises the fundamental importance of risk management in today’s commercial world and seeks to provide graduates with extended skills in these areas.

Studies undertaken in this course will greatly assist those seeking employment in managerial positions where risk management is an expanding field of practice.

Course structure

  1. Students must complete six core units (36 points):

    • AFF4031 Principles of risk transfer
    • AFF9020 Introduction to risk principles
    • AFF9770 Risk financing and treasury management
    • BTX4031 Insurance law
    • BTX9760 Risk control and the law
    • ETX9520 Quantitative methods for risk analysis
  2. Students must complete two units (12 points) from the 4000-level units chosen from any discipline within any faculty, subject to approval of the course director.

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Diploma in Risk Management may apply for admission to the Master of Risk Management course.
