Course description

This course is designed to introduce students to the study of Australian society and culture at an advanced level. It draws on the combination of interdisciplinary courses and others which are centred in a particular discipline. The common ground is the preoccupation with Australian values and identity.

Entry requirements

A bachelors pass degree (or international equivalent) in any discipline, or demonstrable professional experience at senior level in a relevant area (these applicants will need to supply a CV, a 1000-word statement and the names of two professional referees).

Course structure

Students undertake units to the value of 24 points at level 4 .

Level 4

  • COM4001 Researching and writing Australia

and either:

  • AUS4010 Australian society and culture, or
    AUS4025 Australia in global perspective, or
    one other 12-point level 4 unit with the approval of the course coordinator
