The principal research discipline is theory of art and design. Candidates develop a written proposal that outlines the proposed project, places the research within the context of the scholarly literature and provisionally outlines the methodology by which it might be brought to a conclusion. Candidates will be examined entirely on the basis of the written paper, which should be between 30,000 and 40,000 words. Entry requirementsApplicants should hold an honours degree with a grade of H2A or above, its equivalent or an approved fourth year of study (eg a graduate diploma).
