Undergraduate handbook 2005 - Business and Economics
The undergraduate program
The following undergraduate courses are available on the Monash South Africa
campus.
- Bachelor of Business and Commerce
Unless
otherwise stated in the individual course entry section of this publication,
entry requirements, and contact details for further inquiries for all Monash
South Africa campus single degrees are standard and are listed below:
Students
must hold one of the following to be eligible for entry into an undergraduate
degree course at Monash South Africa:
- South African Senior Certificate (SAFCERT), certifying that the student has
met the minimum entry requirements for university admission in South Africa, or
- a certificate issued by the Matriculation Board exempting the student from
having to obtain SAFCERT certification, or
- an equivalent qualification (eg successful completion of the International
Baccalaureate or A levels), or
- relevant post-secondary studies.
Students must provide original
evidence of matriculation endorsement, exemption or other qualifications, and
final grades in units undertaken.
Students must also satisfy the following prerequisites to be eligible for entry
into an undergraduate degree course at Monash South Africa:
- Mathematics: a satisfactory pass in mathematics in the South African Senior
Certificate, or in an equivalent Year 12 level examination, is required.
- English: a pass in an examination equivalent to English at the higher grade
(first or second language) in the South African Senior Certificate; or a pass
in English at A level, O level, International Baccalaureate or equivalent; or
American Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) achieving a minimum
score of 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE 5) score of 5 or
computer-based TOEFL achieving a minimum score of 237 with an essay rating (ER)
of 5; International English Language Testing (IELTS) achieving a minimum of 6
with a score of at least 6 for each individual band.
