The undergraduate program

The following undergraduate courses are available on the Peninsula campus.

General campus information

Unless otherwise stated in the individual course entry section of this publication, entry requirements, and contact details for further inquiries for all Peninsula campus single and double degrees are standard and are listed below:

Entry requirements

(a) Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

Units 1 and 2 - two units (any combination) of General Mathematics and/or Mathematical Methods. Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in English (any).

(b) Comparable qualifications

Applicants may also satisfy entry requirements with qualifications equivalent to VCE, eg TAFE qualifications (a TAFE advanced diploma with a grade average of at least 60 or a TAFE Certificate IV with a grade average of at least 65) or comparable Year 12 qualifications, including International Baccalaureate, or other approved tertiary study.

(c) Special admission

Students who have not successfully completed VCE or equivalent may satisfy entry requirements by completing at least two Monash non-award single units or Open Learning (OLA) units. A pass in a mathematics unit at Year 11 or above. Accounting

The Bachelor of Business and Commerce program is accredited with CPA Australia (http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au) and with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) (http://www.icaa.com.au).
Provided students complete all units specified in the accounting major and all units specified in the professional accounting specialisation, they will qualify for associate membership of CPA Australia and entry to the CA program of the ICAA.

Taxation

Students who wish to obtain registration with the Tax Agents Board must complete an accounting degree and include in their study an approved taxation law unit. Details can be found in Regulation 156 of the Income Tax Regulations Act 1936 (http://www.ato.com.au).
