Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice

The course offers suitable pre-registration training in pharmacy and provides professional development opportunities for pharmacy graduates. Students explore elective units such as wound care, management and other issues relevant to the daily practice of pharmacy.

Entry requirements

The course is open to holders of a degree or equivalent qualification in pharmacy from Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or the UK. Other overseas applicants must have completed stage one of the APEC examination process. Non-Australian citizens must hold an occupational training visa.

Course structure

Students complete two core units in applied pharmacy practice (six credit points each) and 12 points of elective units drawn from the postgraduate studies in wound care and pharmacy management programs, available at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Electives are delivered flexibly, and students are provided with a comprehensive set of study materials for each unit. Elective units completed successfully can be credited towards any future study in relevant award courses.
The course can be completed in one year of part-time study. Students who choose to defer their electives will normally complete the course in 18 months to two years of part-time study.
