Postgraduate handbook 2005 - Engineering

Doctor of Philosophy

The Doctor of Philosophy is the highest degree offered by the department.
There are a wide range of topics available at any time in the general areas of computer systems and software engineering, control engineering, electronics, telecommunications engineering, electrical power systems, biomedical engineering and robotics. Electrical engineering is among the most rapidly developing areas of knowledge. The range of potential research topics changes frequently and so students are encouraged to contact the department's postgraduate director by email at ecse.graduatestudies@eng.monash.edu.au.
The Doctor of Philosophy is usually completed by research only at the Clayton campus. Under special circumstances, the program may be conducted by external candidature.
For details relating to this program, consult the Faculty of Engineering section in this handbook.
