This
course provides a fourth year of study for students wishing to extend their
knowledge in the areas of their undergraduate majors in accounting and finance,
econometrics, economics, or management.
The course can also be undertaken as a research preliminary qualification. It
provides a year of study for students who wish to undertake a higher degree by
research, but do not meet the admission requirements. Students who successfully
complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Economics with an average of 70% or above
may consider applying for the Master of Philosophy.
Candidates for admission require a pass degree in the proposed discipline area of study (namely economics, economic history, econometrics, accounting and finance, management) with an average mark of 70% or above from a recognised tertiary institution.
No credit for work done previously is available in this postgraduate diploma.
Students undertaking this course are able to apply for a Commonwealth-supported place.
