Course description

On successful completion of this course, students will have enhanced their professional knowledge, skills and values, so as to perform competently in the complex field of family therapy. They will demonstrate advanced practice and conceptual skills to augment their contribution to the field, to their communities and to society. They will have developed a critical understanding of the relationship between family and the social conditions impacting on families and individuals.

Entry requirements

Candidates must have a three-year degree in social work, social welfare, psychology or allied field, together with current employment working with families in the field of human services. Students who do not meet this criterion may be accepted into the faculty certificate if they hold a Diploma of Arts (Social Welfare) or its equivalent; or hold a senior position with at least five years practice, in the human services sector.
