Postgraduate handbook 2005 - Arts

Philosophy

The Philosophy program offers four graduate-level courses: the PhD, the MA (either by thesis alone or by thesis and coursework) and the masters qualifying with a research component. Although the section's strength lies in the area of analytic philosophy in the Anglo-American tradition, it is also able to offer high-quality supervision in many areas of recent European thought, feminism and the history of ideas.

Research strengths and supervision

The School of Philosophy and Bioethics has internationally recognised research strengths in the areas of logic and metaphysics and applied ethics and moral philosophy along with an excellent higher degree completion rate.

Research degrees
