Doctor of Philosophy

The degree of Doctor of Philosophy may be taken by research only or by research and coursework in the discipline of critical theory. The PhD will normally be completed in not more than four years of full-time study or eight years of part-time study.

Entry requirements

Candidates for admission to the PhD should hold a first class or second class division A four-year honours degree or MA in an appropriate discipline with a significant research component, or a masters qualifying with an overall grade of first class honours or second class division A, as well as a grade of distinction or above for the research component. There is no mid-year entry to the PhD by research and coursework.
