The course provides a broad understanding of the values and basic principles of biostatistical methods in health and medical research. The program articulates with the Graduate Diploma of Biostatistics and then the Master of Biostatistics.
Applicants must have a bachelors degree in science, psychology, medicine, pharmacy, nursing or other appropriate disciplines. In addition, you must have either at least one year's work experience in a health-related area or an honours degree in mathematics or statistics. MPH2041 (Introductory biostatistics) or equivalent is a prerequisite.
The course, offered over 12 months part-time, consists of one core unit and three elective units taken over two semesters.
* Note: MPH2040 is not available for study in off-campus learning mode. This unit may be studied on-campus or an equivalent unit studied elsewhere as a cross-institutional unit.
Assessment consists of written assignments, practical exercises and examinations.
