A number of orientation programs and services are offered. These include presentations and a range of web-based information.

Community Services

Counselling

Student counsellors assist with the whole range of life events, including study, personal and family problems that can get in the way of a successful university outcome. They also provide personality profiling and careers testing (for a small fee). For further information, visit the website at www.adm.monash.edu.au/commserv/.

Disability Liaison Unit

Monash University is committed to promoting access and equity for all enrolled students with a disability or long-term medical condition to enable them to participate as independently as possible in educational activities.
Students wishing to apply for services must register with the Disability Liaison Unit (DLU) and provide relevant, current documentation from a professional, qualified practitioner responsible for coordinating treatment or management of their condition.
Students are urged to contact the DLU as soon as they are enrolled to help facilitate support requirements, such as alternative arrangements for examinations.
For further information, visit the DLU website at www.adm.monash.edu.au/sss/pc/equity/dlu, email dlu@adm.monash.edu.au, telephone +61 3 9905 5704, TTY +61 3 9905 5391 or fax +61 3 9905 5517.

Information Technology Services (computers)

Students at Monash University have at least two computer accounts they may use to access IT facilities and electronics services - a Novell account and an Authcate account. These accounts will last for the duration of their studies and remain active while they are fully enrolled. The Novell account allows students to use the PCs in the computer laboratories on-campus and access software on Monash servers. The Authcate account enables students to access the pages on the Monash website and other Monash resources that are protected by a password, eg examination results, re-enrolment, library resources, Monash email and much more.
