This course enables students to graduate with both a BSc( Biotech) and BSc(EnvMgt) degree following four years of full-time study.

The course aims to provide students with a broad spectrum of knowledge of resource management issues and strategies in combination with knowledge of scientific principles, concepts and skills in areas of science relevant to biotechnology. The maximum time for completion of the course is 10 years, including intermissions.

Course requirements

No more than 60 points of level one units can be included overall. Elective units may be chosen from any faculty at the Malaysia campus, including units offered for other science courses.

Stage one

• BIO1011, BIO1022, BTH1802, CHM1011, CHM1022, ENV1711 and SCI1020
• one six-point elective unit

Stage two*

• BIO2011, BTH2746, BTH2757, BTH2802, CHM2741, ENV2757, GEN2041 and MIC2011

Stage three

• BTH3757, BTH3797, CHM3731, GEN3031, GEN3041 and SCI2010
• two six-point elective units

Stage four

• CHM2951, ENV2726, ENV2747, ENV3726, ENV3737, SCM3011 and SCM3022
• one six-point elective unit

* Students whose intake was before 2003 are required to complete either GEN2052 or BTH2802 as one of their level-two core units.
