Science

Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws

Course code: 0086 + Clayton + Administered by the Faculty of Law

The science component of the BSc/LLB course requires that students must complete a major sequence in a science area of study, a minor sequence in a different science area of study, the science core units SCI1020 and SCI2010 (normally taken in the second year of study) and two additional science units. Students who have fulfilled the Bachelor of Science core requirement by completing either MTH1030 or STA1010 can replace SCI1020 by an elective science unit. In the first year of study, it is recommended that students complete at least two 12-point sequences in science areas of study. With the permission of the Faculty of Law, students may complete up to three science sequences if they are uncertain of the likely area of study for their major sequence.

For further details of the BSc/LLB, refer to the Faculty of Law section of this handbook. Students who wish to graduate with a Bachelor of Science, or undertake honours in science, prior to the completion of the BSc/LLB course must have completed at least 144 points of studies including all of the science requirements for the course.
